Words of guidance

Student or sage, Logic opens the gates to enlightenment.

Before thou go any further at the pages of this tome, I advice thou to read the study of the history, the Ordeals of History, for without history there is no present. If we doth not learn from history then the past hasth been for vein, and 'tis something no one can afford. 'Tis the duty of each and every scholar to be aware of past and be vary of future, for path of philosophy is not carefree way of life. When thou know whom Mondain was, what Minax is and what danger future might hold, then thou'rt at right path.

Introduction

We all art travellers on a spiritual and philosophical path. We travel our life at different pace, some doth travel fast some slower, but the same fact remains. Be it utter Chaos or path of Virtue we all doth follow a philosophy in our lives. There art many paths to choose from, however only few of them art truly good for thine inner self.

Britannia currently hasth only one main philosophy to follow, which is the path of Virtue. Virtues hasth been established for over 300 years and have gained status of cornerstone of Britannia. But even a cornerstone of a house gets old and needs new structure to support it over the time, and such is the case with the Virtues as well.

Circle of Logic is to introduce new balance to philosophy of Britannia. It hasth not been created to replace Virtues, instead the values of Virtue art supported. By introducing a new philosophy for people to follow, the ever so broad path of corruption shall narrow.

The Ways of Logic

Logic is the prime example of humanity's glory, our ability to think, plan and learn. We art all travellers trough our lives, and the future is always as uncertain as walking a strange path. Thou may prepare thyself by studding maps and gathering information, but only a fool wouldst go to unknown territory without preparation. With studies of logic, thou can be a prepared traveller, rather than the lost sheep in the woods.

Much like day (morning, day, evening, night) or basic elements (fire, water, earth and wind) there is four key elements that together form the full circle. The four elements of balanced person: Wisdom, Patience, Righteousness and Willpower. Together they form the Circle of Logic.

The philosophy is called circle, as it is in balance with itself. It has no end or beginning. All of the four elements affect each other and together form one single entity of philosophy. If thou would remove one part of the circle, it wouldst not a complete circle anymore.

The following will handle about the elements of Logic individually.

    Wisdom:
Wisdom is not simply knowledge but also person's ability to use his knowledge in interest of common good. 'Tis the true wise ones who actually learns from their past experience and what they have studied. Wisdom is also something thou gain with age, as experience is part of gaining wisdom. One shouldst always have respect for the elderly, scholars and sages, but naturally questioning them is allowed for even them can be mistaken, however this shouldst be done by dialogue rather than immature acts. Whether thou'rt young or old, thou may have great wisdom as it is more of maturity of mind than of the body.

    Patience:
Calm mind is essential to make logical decisions and 'tis needed when studied. Patience and calm art the eyes of truth; What hasty mind misses the patient and logical mind sees. Most importantly, one must not forget that even the simplest of matters can go wrong if only one slight detail is missed.

    Righteousness:
One needs to devote to the right cause for wisdom and power of logic canst be used as easily be wasted as it can be used for good. Together with Wisdom, Patience and Willpower can one determine and logically weight the cause, thus making decision whether 'tis for good or ill.

    Willpower:
Without power of will can ones' opinion or studies be influenced, or perhaps even distracted. Without willpower one does not have qualities needed to gain the other three elements.

And thus is formed the Circle of Logic, only together in a circle they art complete. Each element needs others to be able to be achieved, thus making the circle complete only when all four elements art present.
